Mass will mark 198 years since Juan Pablo Duarte’s birth

SANTO DOMINGO. – The Ministry of Culture today said it will host a mass to commemorate the 198th anniversary of the birth of Founding Father Juan Pablo Duarte on Monday, January 31.

It said of father of National History Jose Gabriel Garcia; the Independence leader and martyr of the Restoration Pedro Ignacio Espaillat, and of the sociologist and Puerto Rican educator Eugene Maria de Hostos will also be honored in the ceremony.

Culture said the mass will be held in the National Pantheon at 7 p.m, officiated by the priest Bartolome Marte.
