Heads of Senate, Chamber of Deputies to remain at posts

Santo Domingo.- The Political Committee of Dominican Republic’s ruling party (PLD) on Monday ratified Reinaldo Pared as president of the Senate, and Abel Martinez as head of the Chamber of Deputies.

The PLD’s overwhelming majority in both legislative chambers guarantees Pared, senator for the National District, will be elected a 7th consecutive year since joining that chamber in 2006.

Meanwhile Martinez, deputy for Santiago, repeats a second consecutive year as head of the lower Chamber.
