Judges revoke bail for cop nabbed with almost US$500,000

Santo Domingo.-The National District 1st Court of Appeals revoked the release on bond of Eduardo Andrés Massanet Martínez (Nazanet), who was arrested two weeks ago with nearly half a million dollars inside a SUV in barrio of the capital.

Judges Eduardo Sánchez, Antonio Sanchez and Doris Pujols ruled to send Massanet to three months to Najayo prison to await trial, noting that the defendant failed to justify he release on bail.

The judges ruled for the prosecution’s request to revoke the ruling for his release handed down by National District Permanent Attention judge José Alejandro Vargas.

At the time of his arrest, Massanet was assigned to internal security at Police Headquarters.
