Insubordination prompts Police purge, 33 fired including 2 colonels

Santo Domingo.- The National Police will recommend the ouster and reprimands against 33 of its members, including two colonels and other officers with ranks ranging from Lt. Colonel to private.

The Police reports that among the reprimands and forced retirements figure the two colonels and 11 officers who refused to be transferred from the precinct at Dajabón (northwest), which together with last year’s “breakout” by cops of an agent jailed in San Francisco (northeast) led to another purge.

"For this case the colonels Eddy Francisco Perez and Ivan Antonio Bello were reprimanded with 10 and 30 days incarceration respectively and 1st Lt. Fernando Antonio Fernández with 30 days," the Police said in a statement.
