Ban on booze unchanged for holidays

SANTO DOMINGO. – During the holiday season the schedule on sale of alcoholic beverages will not eased as previous years, Interior and Police minister Jose Ramon Fadúl announced Tuesday.

He said the measure aims to reduce the number deaths and violence rooted in the bars and night clubs nationwide daily. "It’s not possible that people begin to visit the country’s night clubs past midnight.”

He said the Government will not be indifferent to the situation and noted that those restrictions are also applied in developed countries.
