Santo Domingo.– Last night people all over the Dominican Republic were able to watch a total eclipse of the moon that began on Tuesday, 15 April at 12:55am.
The maximum eclipse occured at 03:46am when the moon was closest to the center of the shadow. The eclipse was able to be seen until 04:23am before sunrise.
During the eclipse, the moon darkened gradually until it became a totally reddish disk, then gradually returned to normal in two to three hours. During the process, the moon’s bright glow dims, taking on a red hue because of shimmers of sunlight and sunsets seeping through the Earth’s atmosphere.
