This Thursday morning, a seismic event with an initial magnitude of 4.1 occurred, originating south of the Azua province in the Caribbean Sea. The National Center of Seismology revealed that the earthquake occurred 16 kilometers south-southwest of Los Negros in Azua.
Geologist Osiris de León indicated that the epicenter was located in the marine area northeast of Barahona and southeast of the El Curro hill. Fortunately, there have been no reported material damages or casualties resulting from this earthquake as of now.
