Salcedo and Navarrete dawned with raids; six people arrested

Salcedo—On Friday morning, several raids were carried out in different parts of Salcedo, Hermanas Mirabal province, and several people were arrested, including Miguel Almánzar, operative coordinator of the People’s Force party in the municipality.

According to preliminary versions, in the operations, several portions of controlled substances, firearms of different calibers, as well as ammunition were seized. The intervened sectors were Rabo Duro and San Lorenzo.

According to the local police authorities, they have only supported the units of the Directorate of Criminal Intelligence (Dintel), Swat, and Lincen, which come from Santo Domingo.

According to the police director, six people were arrested in these operations.

The municipal president of the People’s Force in Salcedo, Pablo Antonio Rojas García, denounces that what has been done today in this municipality is illegal; he denounces that it is selective and abusive.

He specifies that without any words and verifying, as expressed by Almánzar’s wife in a video sent to this media, the leader of the FP was seized with a shotgun and a pistol, which, according to Rojas García, and as expressed by the wife of the detainee, both weapons are legal.

Also, in Navarrete, from early morning hours, interventions took place in the main sectors of this municipality, where several individuals were arrested, and weapons and other artifacts were seized.
