Seventh victim of Salcedo carnival fire passes away

The tragic aftermath of the fire that engulfed the Salcedo carnival in the province of Hermanas Mirabal continues, as the seventh victim succumbed to their injuries on Thursday.

The latest casualty is Jean Elvis Jiménez, an 8-year-old who had been receiving treatment at the Doctor Thelma Rosario Burn Unit of the Doctor Arturo Grullón University Regional Children’s Hospital in Santiago.

Despite efforts to stabilize Jiménez’s delicate condition, the hospital confirmed his passing. This marks another heartbreaking loss in the wake of the carnival tragedy.
