Santo Domingo.- Advensus, a leading provider of call center and business solutions in the Dominican Republic, has launched the Clean Rivers DR Foundation, aiming to protect, restore, and clean the rivers of the country, beginning with the iconic Isabela River.
The foundation’s inauguration took place at Advensus facilities, attended by executives and staff, where lawyer Elizabeth Mena was appointed CEO. Mena, a prominent advocate for environmental sustainability in the Dominican Republic, will lead the foundation’s efforts.
Thomas Oronti, CEO of Advensus and president of the foundation, emphasized the significance of the initiative, underlining the company’s commitment to community well-being and environmental stewardship.
“We’re not just celebrating the launch of Clean Rivers DR; we’re pledging to address a crucial issue affecting every Dominican citizen,” stated Elizabeth Mena. “Rivers are essential for our survival, yet they’re under unprecedented threat from pollution and neglect. With Advensus’ support and collaboration, we’re initiating this project to make a real difference.”

The Isabela River, chosen as the initial focus, has suffered from pollution and flooding, posing risks to public health and the ecosystem. Clean Rivers DR plans to execute cleanup, restoration, and educational initiatives to raise awareness about river preservation.
With the foundation’s launch, Advensus calls upon individuals, businesses, and the government to join forces in safeguarding and revitalizing the country’s water resources. “Together, we aim to establish a sustainable river management model that can be replicated nationwide and beyond,” said Oronti.
