Puerto Plata – This Sunday’s presidential and congressional elections have begun normally in the province of Puerto Plata.
The polling stations were set up on time, although the influx of people was timid in the early hours of the morning.
In the polling stations in the center of the city, the resolution that limits the presence of activists with badges was complied with to the letter, in those with the highest concentration of voters, such as the Virginia Ortea y Brugal school, in the Gregorio Luperón Urbanization, where the Electoral Police established perimeters with fences.
Activists from opposition parties complained that those from the ruling party penetrated the perimeter without badges to influence people.
Similarly, in the municipalities of Luperón and Villa Isabela, the normal start of voting was reported.
