Santo Domingo.- The Santo Domingo Aqueduct and Sewer Corporation (CAASD) has activated its emergency committee to address potential issues arising from low water levels across the country.
Engineer Felipe Suberví, the Corporation’s general director, spearheaded a meeting with the Operations team to implement preventive and responsive protocols. These protocols, executed by the institution’s brigades, are crucial to ensure uninterrupted drinking water service to Greater Santo Domingo before, during, and after any adverse weather conditions, as emphasized by Suberví.
Suberví underscored the Corporation’s presence in the Emergency Operations Center (COE) and the National Meteorological Office (Onamet), ensuring close monitoring of their directives. He directed the maintenance brigades for drinking water networks, sanitary sewage, and project execution units to remain vigilant and coordinated to minimize potential impacts and provide necessary assistance to affected communities. “We stand prepared to respond promptly and efficiently to any eventualities,” he affirmed.
Suberví reaffirmed CAASD’s dedication to the Dominican population, pledging continued efforts to ensure a reliable water supply and contribute to citizen well-being during climatic challenges.
Furthermore, he urged the public to use water judiciously and exercise caution when crossing rivers, streams, and ravines with high water levels, advising against using spas in provinces under alert.
