Connecting Futures: A digital revolution for Dominican education

Santo Domingo, D.N. – The candidate for deputy for the Partido Reformista Social Cristiano (PRSC) in constituency 1 of the National District, Silvia González, presented her proposal “Conectando Futuros,” an innovative initiative that seeks to transform the Dominican educational system through the incorporation of advanced digital technologies.

The PRSC candidate assured that “digital education represents an unprecedented opportunity to overcome the traditional barriers to learning in the Dominican Republic.”

“Conectando Futuros is an innovative initiative aimed at revolutionizing the Dominican educational system through the incorporation of advanced digital technologies, teacher training in digital skills and the development of technological infrastructure in rural areas,” said Gonzalez.

He also said that this proposal seeks to improve the quality of education and make it more accessible, as well as to prepare new generations for future challenges.

Pillars to contribute to the country’s socioeconomic development

This educational proposal is based on three fundamental pillars: universal access to technology, with an expansion of high-speed Internet coverage throughout the national territory, especially in rural areas; teacher training, with continuing education programs for teachers in digital tools, innovative teaching methods, and design of digital educational materials; and curricular innovation, integrating content related to programming, robotics, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies in school curricula.

“What we hope with this program is to improve the quality of education for all regardless of geographic location or socioeconomic context of the students. That we will have teachers who are better trained and prepared to use and teach with digital technologies,” the candidate reaffirmed.

She added that “this project will result in students with advanced digital skills, ready to contribute to the socioeconomic development of the Dominican Republic and the reduction of school dropout rates, thanks to more attractive and relevant teaching methods.”

Silvia González, is the only PRSC candidate in the National District with more than twelve years of experience in politics and who, throughout her career, has demonstrated her commitment to education and the creation of better opportunities for the youth of the country.

“Conectando Futuros is a project with which, with the support of the educational community, private companies and the government, we will be able to transform Dominican education and prepare new generations for success.”
