Santo Domingo.- Major General Ramón Antonio Guzmán Peralta, the director of the National Police, recently joined various public figures and authorities in signing the “Pact for Animals,” organized by the Dominican Federation for Animal Rights (Fedda) at the headquarters of the Listín Diario newspaper.

During the signing ceremony, Guzmán Peralta emphasized the importance of raising awareness and sensitizing people about the proper care of animals. The agreement was signed in the presence of Miguel Franjul, the director of Listín Diario, and Lorenny Solano, the president of Fedda.

Additionally, resources such as trucks and personnel were provided to the Animal Protection Attorney’s Office for transporting animals to shelters.

Guzmán Peralta mentioned the existence of an animal protection department within the National Police and expressed his intention to strengthen its presence nationwide to enhance its effectiveness.

He expressed gratitude to Franjul and Fedda for inviting him to participate in the signing ceremony and affirmed his commitment to supporting the initiative wholeheartedly.

“As the National Police, we are committed to assisting in any way necessary. Whether it involves responding to criminal activities or complying with requests from judicial institutions such as the Public Ministry or court orders, we will be at your disposal,” he stated.
