Migration Directorate allows reuse of uploaded documents

Santo Domingo.- Birth certificates, passports, copies of ID cards, photos, and other documents required by the General Directorate of Immigration (DGM) for permits for minors traveling abroad no longer need to be re-uploaded to the website. Users can reuse these documents whenever necessary, except for those with an expiration date.

This new flexibility allows citizens to have all their uploaded documents available for review and management in the new interface. Non-expired documents can be reused, streamlining future requests since the data is already stored in the created account.

The only document required every time a minor travels is the notarized or consular authorization, which expires after each use. This must be redone for every trip to ensure the safety of the minor.

This new system simplifies document management and makes the travel process easier and safer for everyone.

The General Directorate of Immigration urges citizens traveling with minors who do not have legal guardianship to complete their authorization certifications on time to avoid congestion. These certifications are approved within 48 hours if they meet the requirements, helping avoid missed flights and streamlining the process.

Additionally, the DGM warns citizens to avoid “scammers” who aim to deceive people. Individuals can complete their processes at the established price, without intermediaries, and safely.
