Eduardo Figueroa resigns as Director of Issuance and Renewal

Santo Domingo.- Eduardo Figueroa has tendered his resignation from the position of Director of Issuance and Renewal at the General Directorate of Passports. His departure was announced through a press release highlighting his achievements during his tenure.

Under Figueroa’s leadership, there was a significant expansion of passport services across the country, including the opening of new offices in Higuey, Bonao, Occidental Mall, and Parada de la Cultura. He also oversaw the recovery and modernization of the old Passport office in Santo Domingo Este, transforming it into an efficient Call Center.

Figueroa represented the institution at international events in Canada and other countries, advocating for professional development among Passport employees through various training programs. He was notably involved in implementing measures to address the passport book crisis in 2022, including the introduction of the stamp in the Passport book.

In his resignation statement, Figueroa expressed heartfelt gratitude to President Luis Abinader for the opportunity to serve the country in this pivotal role. He affirmed his commitment to remain available to support the president and the Dominican population moving forward.
