Dominican Port Authority launches mobile app

Santo Domingo.- To advance its digital strategy and improve efficiency, the Dominican Port Authority (APORDOM) has launched a new mobile application designed to bring its services closer to users.

The app will enable users to monitor and manage processes while providing solutions tailored to their needs.

At the launch event, Jean Luis Rodríguez, executive director of APORDOM, emphasized that integrating technological tools into government institutions enhances service efficiency and transparency, offering more direct and accessible information channels for citizens.

“The new mobile application reflects our commitment to providing a direct contact channel, making services more efficient and accessible to everyone. Under President Luis Abinader’s administration, we continue to be agents of change, driving the transformation our country deserves,” Rodríguez said.

Juan Mármol, director of Information and Communication Technology, highlighted that the app delivers all logistics information to citizens with just one click, covering services and sector-specific information.

Stanley Lara, CEO of Solvex Dominicana, which developed the app, noted that it facilitates access to ports and provides information on the port system, maps, rates, and more.

The app, available for iOS and Android, offers users access to APORDOM’s information, activities, procedure management, news, and services. Users can also track port openings and the annual training schedule.

The event was attended by Alejandro Campos, president of the Board of Directors of the Port Authority, deputy executive directors of APORDOM, departmental directors, Rear Admiral Henry Antonio Guzmán Taveras (general director of the Specialized Port Security Corps – CESEP), Erik Alma (president of Haina International Terminals – HIT), Manuel Martínez (president of DP World), and other special guests.

The app also allows users to calculate storage tariffs for exports and imports and provides direct access to the VUCE portal for services like Ship Chandler license renewals and tugboat licenses.
