Beryl projected as “very dangerous” category 4 hurricane

The National Hurricane Center in Miami predicts that Hurricane Beryl could become a category four hurricane “extremely dangerous when the path reaches the Windward Islands.”

The U.S. weather agency warns that the atmospheric phenomenon could pass with destructive hurricane-force winds and storm surges that could be life-threatening.

It also called on the Central American area to follow Beryl’s evolution for possible damage.

So far, hurricane-intensity winds extend 30 kilometers outside its center, and tropical storm-intensity winds extend 130 kilometers.
