Santo Domingo.- The government social protection program Supérate and the MIO Banreservas platform secured second place at the Latam Digital Awards 2024, recognizing their contributions to digital growth in Latin America and the Caribbean.

In its eleventh edition, the awards ceremony took place in Bogotá, Colombia, with the Dominican Republic honored for its commitment to innovation, transformation, and digital inclusion.

Supérate and MIO Banreservas were awarded in the Digital Government pillar, under the category “Best Project with Social Impact Using Digital Technologies,” for the initiative “Supérate is Easier with MIO.” This project has successfully digitized management processes and enhanced the control of social assistance provided by the government.

Gloria Reyes, head of the Supérate program, highlighted the project’s impact on transparency, security, and efficiency for both administration and beneficiaries. The award was received by Christian Pichardo and Maximiliano Barr, co-founders of MIO Banreservas, and Erick Rivera, head of Strategy and Content at Supérate.

Barr expressed gratitude to the Supérate program and its director for their leadership and vision, while Pichardo acknowledged the support from the Reserve Bank and its executive president, Samuel Pereyra. He emphasized MIO Banreservas’ pride in contributing to financial inclusion in the Dominican Republic and making a difference in local communities.

The Latam Digital Awards, organized by Interlat, annually recognize outstanding digital communication projects by public and private organizations across Latin America.
