Santo Domingo.- The Remotely Piloted Aircraft Division (Drones) of the National Emergency and Security System 911 is set to deploy 10 all-terrain units to support the Emergency Operations Center (COE) during Hurricane Beryl’s potential impact on the Dominican Republic.
These drones will play a crucial role in monitoring and assessing the effects of Hurricane Beryl, providing essential data to the COE and other response agencies like Fire Departments, Civil Defense, and traffic safety authorities. Their advanced capabilities, including thermal cameras for locating people, infrared sensors for assessing infrastructure damage, and precise GPS systems, enable rapid and accurate decision-making in emergency situations.
Operated by highly trained pilots with expertise in extreme conditions, supported by all-terrain vehicles for access to flooded or hazardous areas, these drones enhance the effectiveness of response efforts throughout all phases of the storm. The 911 System emphasizes public safety and urges citizens to heed official recommendations and COE bulletins for their safety and well-being.
