Dominican artists shine with 12 nominations for 2024 Latin Grammys

Santo Domingo.- Dominican music continues to shine on the international stage with 12 artists nominated for the 2024 Latin Grammys. The prestigious awards, organized by the Latin Recording Academy, will take place on November 14 in Miami at the Kaseya Center.

Among the nominees, Juan Luis Guerra stands out with nods in five categories: Album of the Year, Recording of the Year, Best Tropical Song, Best Merengue and/or Bachata Album, and Producer of the Year, the latter shared with pianist and arranger Janina Rosado.

Other Dominican artists nominated include José Alberto (El Canario) for Best Traditional Tropical Album, J Noa for Best Alternative Song, and Redimi2 for Best Christian Album in Spanish. Additionally, Eddy Herrera, Magic Juan, and Prince Royce are nominated for Best Merengue and/or Bachata Album. Ilegales (Vladimir Dotel, Junior Pimentel, and David Díaz) earned a spot in the Best Contemporary Tropical Album category, while Vicente García shares a nomination for Song of the Year.

This strong Dominican representation reflects the country’s enduring influence on Latin music across multiple genres.
