Authorities carry out raids in several provinces

Santo Domingo.- The National Directorate of Drug Control (DNCD) and the Public Ministry executed 83 search warrants and conducted more than 3,000 interdiction operations nationwide last week, resulting in the arrest of 936 individuals and the seizure of 172,634 grams of various drugs. Confiscated substances included 130,603 grams of cocaine, 37,291 grams of marijuana, 4,690 grams of crack, 19 grams of heroin, 14 grams of tusi, 15 grams of hashish, and 60 ecstasy pills.

In addition to drugs, authorities seized 5 firearms, 29 knives, 2 vehicles, 49 motorcycles, 262 cell phones, 3 bulletproof vests, 21 communication radios, and 92 scales. Operations were conducted in multiple provinces, including Greater Santo Domingo, Santiago, and La Altagracia, targeting drug networks and micro-trafficking.

The DNCD and Public Ministry will continue intensifying their efforts under Law 50-88, with a focus on new strategies to dismantle micro-trafficking networks and eradicate drug trafficking across the country.
