Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.- In yet another example of president Danilo Medina’s timid stance on government corruption, one of his closest collaborators on Thursday “urged” all officials to be efficient and transparent in their actions.
"Danilo Medina’s mandate, as you all know, is ‘do what has never been done," said Administrative minister José Ramón Peralta.
The official, representing the President at the first Congress on Governance ‘Risk and Control,’ hosted by the Office of the General Comptroller, said Dominicans “must be show that efficiency and transparency can and should always go hand in hand."
He said transparency and the proper use of taxpayers’ money are Medina’s administration’s main objectives and the main thrust to transform the country.
He said an example of full Government transparency is the construction of schools, the 9-1-1 emergency system and quality public expenditure, “to transform every penny into value for the Dominican nation."
