San Francisco de Macorís, DR.- A 4.4 magnitude earthquake was recorded on Monday at 12:24 p.m., with its epicenter located 20 kilometers west of San Francisco de Macorís in Duarte province, according to the UASD Seismological Institute. The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth, confirmed forecaster Andrés Moreta.
No reports of material damage or injuries have been made so far. The Dominican Republic, situated in a region of high seismic activity, frequently experiences such events due to its geographical location.
