Dominican Republic and Colombia reap benefits from Baseball partnership

Santo Domingo.- Continuing the sports collaboration in baseball between the Dominican Republic and Colombia, the Directorate of the National Baseball Commissioner, led by former player Junior Noboa, hosted a tour of several MLB team academies in the Dominican Republic for executives from the Colombian Ministry of Sports and the Departmental Institute of Sports and Recreation (Iderbol).

The Colombian delegation, consisting of 11 members including baseball and softball referees, sports experts, and high-performance athletes, visited the academies of the Yankees, Angels, Nationals, and St. Louis Cardinals. The tour focused on exchanging experiences and insights, with academy managers showcasing their facilities, operations, and organizational structures.

Last week, Dominican experts conducted a seminar in Colombia to update over 75 Colombian umpires on baseball rules, further cementing the sports cooperation between the two nations. Both countries aim to deepen their ties in baseball to enhance cooperation between their governments and institutions.
