Cabo Rojo tourism and development projects progressing rapidly

Pedernales.- Cabo Rojo in Pedernales province is seeing rapid progress in its tourism and economic development projects. Three of the nine planned hotels are already under construction, alongside the operational Cabo Rojo Port. Local residents are beginning to benefit from the government’s development plan, which is designed to boost both tourism and the local economy.

Key infrastructure projects include a new fishing dock, wastewater treatment plant, electrical substation, aqueduct, and road circuit. These developments, overseen by the Pro-Pedernales Trust led by Sigmund Freund, aim to enhance both tourism and the quality of life for the region’s residents.

The Secrets and Iberostar hotels, part of the first phase, will offer over 1,000 rooms and are expected to be completed by the end of 2025. With a focus on luxury experiences in harmony with nature, the project also prioritizes sustainability, with a cutting-edge wastewater treatment plant using advanced technologies to protect the environment.
