Agents seize 179 bricks of drug, arrest 3 at Caucedo Port

Santo Domingo.- The National Drugs Control Agency (DNCD) and Justice Ministry officials on Thursday seized 179 bricks of cocaine or heroin in a container, said spokesman Miguel Medina.

He said three people are in custody in connection with the case one of them with strong ties to the shipment.

The drug was found in a container aboard a ship from Brazil that docked at Caucedo Multimodal Port, whose final destination was Puerto Rico.

Medina said the drug was hidden in seven bundles seized by DNCD agents in the presence of a deputy prosecutor.
