Santo Domingo.- United States ambassador James W. Brewster visited Justice minister Francisco Dominguez Tuesday morning, to discuss various topics of interest to both nations.
In a statement from the US Embassy, Brewster reiterated Washington’s willingness to continue providing information and assistance to the Office of the Justice Ministry regarding any individual who commits a crime against any citizen or an American interest in the Dominican Republic.
Among the topics covered by the US diplomat and Dominican Republic’s top prosecutor figured a commitment to fight corruption, drug trafficking, money laundering and other areas that impact the population and Santo Domingo-Washington trade relations.
Brewster’s statements reiterate Washington’s vow to assist Dominican officials in the war on crime, voiced by US vice president Joe Biden during a visit to president Danilo Medina on June 18 last year.
