Veteran politico basks in the warmth of his former enemies

Santo Domingo.- Despite that the opposition PRD party and its president Miguel Vargas “stole my victory as General Secretary,” veteran politico Tony Peña Guaba on Wednesday returned to embrace his former enemies, and to the post he affirmed had been swiped from him.

Yesterday’s event capped weeks of rumors that Peña would return to the PRD, after having resigned from the recently formed PRM party, where he allegedly staged verbal confrontations with former president Hipolito Mejia.

"I took a one year vacation," said Peña in the meeting at PRD headquarters and blamed his abandoning the political organization in early 2014, on “an emotion."
