Santo Domingo.- TheUS Embassy on Monday said it will host the exclusive premiere in the country ofthe film ´8 Days´ with the participation of its director Jacob Booyens, theleading lady and US producers and in coordination with the National Cinema FilmDept.
It said the showing willbe open to the public free of charge at the Cinemateca Dominicana at 7:30 pm Thursday.
The film is a productionof After Eden Pictures based on real events in the United States, whichrecounts the story of teen Amber Stevens, who ran away after a party with herfriends, being forced into the world of sex trafficking by her captors.
“During the week of20 to 23 October, the US Embassy has scheduled as part of its activities topromote citizen security, institution-building and democratic governance,conducting several meetings with students from the Autonomous University ofSanto Domingo and several civil organizations, such as Walker Education Projectto meet and discuss this important issue for the United States and theDominican Republic,” the US Embassy said in a statement.
