Dominican champs off to San Juan for Caribbean baseball series

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic Winter Baseball champions Gigantes del Cibao of San Francisco already departed Las Americas International Airport to headed to San Juan, Puerto Rico, to compete for the the Caribbean Series crown that starts at Hiram Bithorn Stadium today Monday.

The Gigantes’ first game will be against the Vegueros of Pinar del Río, Cuba, tomorrow Tuesday.

It’s the first Caribbean Series appearance by San Francisco’s club, after taking the Dominican Series over the Leones and Tigres of Santo Domingo, La Romana’s Toros, San Pedro’s Estrellas and Santiago’s Aguilas.
