Environment marks Earth Day focused on protection

Santo Domingo.- The Environment Ministry on Wednesday headed several activities to mark Earth Day, aimed at raising awareness in society on protecting the planet.

Hundreds of students from several schools celebrated Mother Earth Day at the West Mirador Park in the sector Engombe, including the launch of Plan Read by publisher Listin Diario, as p art of the Geography Week Fair , "The Future of Food: feed the world, protect the planet."

Environment minister Bautista Rojas urged the people to be aware of the importance of protecting the most important ecosystem resource, the Earth.

He said Environment is focused on the protection of biodiversity with policies, land management, reforestation, educational and environmental conservation plans to protect the Earth.
