Electricity subsidy to May tops RD$1.16B; light bill unchanged

Santo Domingo.- The Electricity Superintendence on Thursday said the electricity subsidy will be RD$112.68 million in May and issued a resolution which keeps the consumers’ light bill unchanged.

It said the accumulated subsidy from January to May is RD$1.16 billion.

The resolution signed by superintendent Eduardo Quincoces says the electricity bill was calculated with an exchange rate at RD$44.7395 per dollar, which declined to RD$44.7391 per dollar.
