Dominican Interpol looks for Mexican drug lord ´El Chapo:´ El Dia

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Interpol agents actively seek Mexican drug lord Joaquin ´El Chapo` Guzman, who escaped from a maximum security prison in his country on July 11.

A source quoted by eldia.com.do said more than 100 Interpol agents have conducted several operations in various parts of the country in search for the drug trafficker after receiving intelligence reports.

National Police chief Manuel Castro heads the operations together with Criminal Investigations Dept. (DICRIM) director Cesar Augusto Sena.

Castro also ordered Interpol´s staff of in the country doubled, mostly in the tourism regions.

The request to search for "El Chapo" in Dominican Republic was issued 17, July, one day after his escape, eldia.com.do reports.
