US basketball women defeat Dominicans in 2015 Pan Am Games

Santo Domingo.– The US basketball team defeated Dominican Republic 94-55 in the 2015 Pan American Games on July 17 at Ryerson Athletic Center in Toronto, Canada.

The US squad (2-0) easily built a 48-21 lead at the break after holding the Dominican Republic (0-2) to just 28 percent shooting from the field and nearly eclipsing the 50 percent mark themselves at 17-of-35.

The USA forced 15 turnovers in the opening half, but they failed to pull away by even more after committing 10 miscues in the first half.

The USA is in Group A with Brazil, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. The competition continues with semifinals on July 19 and the Bronze and Gold Medal Games on July 20.
