Leonel Fernandez will attend Danilo Medina’s proclamation: PLD

Santo Domingo.- Ruling Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) cleared doubts about the participation of former President Leonel Fernandez in the proclamation of President Danilo Medina as presidential candidate for that organization, after announcing on Friday that Fernandez will attend the event Sunday to be held at the Sports Palace in Santo Domingo.

The announcement was made at a press conference by PLD general secretary Reinaldo Pared who was accompanied by several members of the PLD Political Committee including Franklin Almeida, Bautista Rojas, Radhames Jimenez and Rafael Alburquerque, the latter a former vice president during the periods in which Fernandez ruled.

"Let’s start again another way to victory in the presidential, congressional and municipal elections to be held this year," Pared told the reporters who attended the press conference at PLD’s National House.
