Dominican prospect Jose Rosario dies in motorcycle accident

Santo Domingo.- Pitching prospect Jose Rosario, 20, died Sunday night in a motorcycle accident in the Dominican Republic, the Houston Astros announced today in a press release.

"Jose was a beloved member of the Astros Latin American program. He will be remembered as a long, lanky-framed pitcher with tremendous ability, an outgoing personality and an ever-positive disposition," Astros Director of International Oz Ocampo said in a statement Monday.

Rosario, who was signed as an 18-year-old minor league free agent in 2013, was considered by the Astros as a "true student of the game" who was "constantly looking to learn and improve his abilities."
