Dominican Republic, Emirates strengthen ties

Dubai.- Emirates Airlines, one of the world’s majorairlines, hosted a meeting with a high-level delegation fromCentral and Latin America, including the DominicanRepublic, at its Dubai headquarters, aiming to boost tieswith the region.

According to Emirates.com, Dominican Counselor, Charge d’affaires, Eduardo Cintron, attended the meeting along with senior officials from Panama, Mexico, Peru, Colombia, Venezuela and Uruguay.

With the official visit Emirates is examining mutually beneficial opportunities to enhance relationships, and further stimulate trade and leisure traffic flows between Dubai and Panama, and also with other markets in Central and South America.

Emirates announced it will launch services to Panama City, beginning 1 February, which will be the airline’s first gateway destination in Central America, and the only air direct air link between the Middle East and Central America.
