Punta Cana hosts Inter-American Press Association meeting next week

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Republic president Danilo Medinawill head the inaugural of the Inter American Press Association’s (IAPA) MidyearMeeting from April 8 to 11, to review press freedom in the Americas.

Medina will be special speaker at the opening ceremony slatedfor the morning of April 10 in Punta Cana (east), where he will be invited tosign the Declaration of Chapultepec, the 10 principles of freedom of speech andthe press that should govern a democratic society.

The IAPA will also host other presidential candidates onApril 11, who’ll also be asked to sign the Declaration of Chapultepec, as partof its activities starting April 8 at Westin Puntacana Resort & Club.
