Prosecution asks 15 years in prison for the notorious ‘Cockfighter’

Santo Domingo.- The prosecution on Wednesday requested 15years in prison for the notorious kingpin Winston Rizik Rodriguez “El gallero” (cockfighter),and five years against his brother Nelson Rizik, both indicted on drugtrafficking, money laundering and illegal weapons.

The Monte Plata (east) Appellate Court will hand down its rulingon 2pm Friday.

the prosecution also requested the confiscation of assetsworth millions seized during the investigation against both defendants,including a farm in Monte Plata and another in San Cristobal (south), a flockof more than 500 fighting roosters, about 300 heads of cattle, more than 40horses, several buildings, vehicles, livestock equipment, among others.

The Rizik brothers allegedly formed part to a criminal networkin the East region, linked to numerous murders as part of a turf war.
