Santo Domingo’s Metro new line could start operating by Aug. 16

Santo Domingo.- Construction on the four stations of SantoDomingo’s Metro Line II-B is nearly finished, for which the start of operation isexpected before August 16.

A Transport Reorganization Office (Opret) source who asked notto use his name made the revelation on Tuesday, one day after workers started installing electric equipmentand decorations at the station located between San Vicente de Paul cornerVenezuela avenues.

Work at the station located at Fernandez de Navarrete also advancesat a quick pace, at nearly 95% complete. German Almonte, a contractor quoted byelcaribe.com.do, said that station will be ready by the end of June or earlyJuly.
