Queens of the Caribbean win fifth straight, end unbeaten in Group A

Santo Domingo.- The "Queens of the Caribbean" wontheir fifth straight match to finish inGroup A with a 5-0 record unbeaten after defeating in three sets rivals Puerto Rico in the XV Pan American Cupheld Wednesday in Santo Domingo’s Olympic Center.

With the win over Puerto Rico the locals obtained firstplace in Group A.

The Dominican girls rallied in the first set, just as theydid in Tuesday’s game against Canada, 25/22 over the Puerto Ricans, despite pressingin the second quarter. in the end the Queens of the Caribbean won the set25/20.

The third quarter was very tight but the Dominican team eventuallywon by 25/23, with Brayelin Martinez leading the scoring with 17 points.
