UK Minister to be keynote speaker at British Chamber Business Breakfast

Santo Domingo.- The British Chamber ofCommerce of the Dominican Republic will host on Tuesday October 25, an businessbreakfast whose guest of honor will be the honorable Sir Alan Duncan, Ministerof Foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland forEurope and the Americas,.

The breakfast keynote speech will focus onthe topic: "Britain in the World: New Opportunities."

The meeting will be attended by governmentofficials, business leaders from various sectors and representatives of civilsociety, who in a space of open dialogue will get to know the impressions ofthe British Minister for Europe and the Americas on the future prospects of theUK, especially after BREXIT.

The Executive Director of BRITCHAM, FrancescaOrtiz stressed the importance of this meeting considering the relevance of thespeaker and the hard work that has been done the British Chamber with theauthorities in its role as liaison between the two governments with the privatesector.

"We are honored to have the new BritishForeign Minister for Europe and the Americas participate as a speaker of thisbusiness breakfast where we can learn about the opportunities that Britain visualizesoffering for the future, after its decision to leave the European Union.Undoubtedly this new landscape offers potential opportunities to furtherstrengthen the already important role that Dominican products and services playin the UK," said BRITCHAM president Jose A. Rodriguez.

The guest speaker at the breakfast has a longhistory in the British public service. Sir Alan Duncan was appointed Ministerof State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Commonwealth on July 17, 2016,and has been the Conservative MP for Rutland and Melton since 1992. He alsoserved as Minister of State for International Development between 2010 and2014.
