Amid Odebrecht chaos, prosecutor gets another major scandal

J.A. Rodriguez

Santo Domingo.-  Justice minister Jean Alain Rodriguez on Tuesday said they analyzes the Presidency’s report on the scandal in the sale of State Sugar Council (CEA) lands, uncovered when a disgruntled buyer shot and killed two radio reporters in San Pedro, before taking his own life.

He said a team analyzes the report to establish if a crime was committed during the transactions.

He said they’ll submit a report within 30 working days once the analysis is completed with due process to try to establish the facts. “If it’s determined that there were fraudulent actions, we’ll proceed to prepare the corresponding indictment to bring those responsible before the courts, regardless of who’s involved, or the position occupied.
