Dominican Govt. warns against military intervention in Venezuela

Maduro. L Fernandez at UN

Santo Domingo.- Dominican Foreign minister Miguel Vargas and former president Leonel Fernandez warned Sunday that a military intervention in Venezuela, as US president Donald Trump has hinted, would not help solve the political and social crisis in that nation,.

On the contrary,  they both agreed, would be a new ingredient to aggravate the conflict b pitting the government of President Nicolás Maduro and opposition parties.

Vargas again raises the diplomatic option as the best way to solve the differences that nuance the relations between the Venezuelan authorities and the opposition, ruling out military intervention as the most appropriate solution.
