Agents, now heavily-armed raid ex cons’ properties

Seized in Paraiso.

Barahona, Dominican Republic.- Two more properties allegedly owned by ex con Ernesto Bienvenido Guevara Díaz (Maconi), were raided Wed. night by police in Barahona and the nearby town of Polo (southwest).

Prosecutors seized a farm in Polo and a night club in Barahona, accompanied by heavily-armed Police, Navy, Army, Antinarcotics and SWAT teams surrounded an entire downtown block.

The authorities had conducted previous raids earlier this week in the town of Paraiso, where they were confronted by individuals who hurled stones and downed trees to block their vehicles.
