Santo Domingo.- Foreign minister Miguel Vargas on Mon. affirmed that Dominican Republic and Cuba are moving forward on an “Integral Collaboration Agreement,” as the legal base for joint programs, projects and initiatives based on common priorities.
Speaking at the Foreign Ministry to mark the 20th anniversary of resumed diplomatic ties between both countries, Vargas stressed the shared history and assured that bilateral relations are fully strengthened.
“Various cooperation agreements and MOUs have been reached in multiple areas of work such as justice, agricultural sector, immigration, culture, sports, mail, air transport, telecommunications, and trade,” the official said.
He listed the efforts, which in his view have been widened during his tenure at the head of the Foreign Ministry. “Last year we signed the legal instrument that defines the general framework for the negotiation of a Partial Scope Trade Agreement, based on positive lists of products of interest in both markets.”
