Medina, hoteliers huddle to jumpstart Punta Cana tourism

Punta Cana.- Dominican Republic president, Danilo Medina, headed a lunch with the main business leaders and east region hoteliers to review the state of tourism in the area and devise strategies to relaunch that sector, which has been in a slump during the first half.

Punta Cana Group CEO Frank Rainieri hosted the gathering that seeks to support the new promotional campaign in the markets of greatest interest.

Tourism minister, Francisco Javier García, Dominican Republic Hotels and Tourism Association (Asonahores), president Paola Rainieri, senior government officials and the leading hoteliers in the east region also attended the meeting, although when it occurred wasn’t specified.

“This meeting had as main objective to review the state of tourism in the Punta Cana area, establish strategies for the 2019/2020 winter season and the collaboration and involvement between hoteliers in the area and the Ministry of Tourism to support the new promotional campaign in the markets of greatest interest,” the Gov. said.
