AEIH president: It is time to stop social inequality

Santo Domingo.– The Herrera and Santo Domingo Province Industries Association (AEIH) president Antonio Guzman Taveras stated that it is time to articulate public policies that make the fruits of economic growth spill in order to end the social inequality reigning in the Dominican Republic.

Guzman raised the urgent need for a strong consensus among government, business sectors, social sectors and responsible political leaders to achieve an equitable distribution of the fruits of growth and prevent the destabilization of social cohesion that undermine governance and business continuity.

The business leader said that until October 2014, as the Central Bank revealed, the economy grew 7% with inflation at 2.53% and relative stability of the exchange rate. He also mentioned that these indicators represent a good chance to make welfare reach people.
