Mogul is 1st woman to head major Dominican business group

Santo Domingo.-The Board of Directors and stakeholders of the Grupo SID on Monday announced that Ligia Bonetti is the new CEO of the group and subsidiaries: MercaSID, Induveca, Agua Cristal, Induspalma, SID Franchises and SID Entertainment.

In a media publication, the SID said starting January Bonetti will replace José Miguel Bonetti Guerra and Roberto Bonetti Guerra, who a successfully steered the group into the country’s most diversified corporation during their more than 45 years to head of the business giant.

Ligia Bonetti has a work record in the SID group for over 20 years, during which she was appointed MercaSID’s Vice President of Business.

Considered one of the Dominican Republic’s most successful and influential women, Bonetti also becomes the first woman to head such a major agro and foods industrial group.
